Arts & Craft Shows
These are a great way to earn money with Friendly Folks and are also a lot of fun. They attract the right customers, are inexpensive to participate in and do not require major time commitments. With shows, you simply set up a display and take orders. The better your display is, the easier it is to make money. So be sure to watch all the videos on displays in our Dealer Resource Center.
Flea markets
These are ok as well as long as they items sold there are a decent quality. There are some cities or towns that have a constant flea market every weekend that attracts shoppers. These usually are a good bet. If you have any doubts, feel free to call the office and give us some information about the location and we’ll give you our opinion on whether it looks like a good place to set up.
The nice thing about shows is that they create a time limit for customers. In other words, customers know at the end of the day you’re leaving. So when they find a cartoon that would make the perfect gift, they’ll purchase it on the spot.
Getting Into Shows
Finding a show is easy. We have a full list in our office. But no matter where you are in the country, there are many to choose from. Many shows are held in local churches so a good place to start is with them, especially around the holiday time. In larger towns and cities, there are promoters who sponsor many different shows. If you make a connection with one of them, then you can be booked at all their shows. Once you’ve found one, call the promoter. Get all the details such as price and ask for an application. We send a matted personalized cartoon and a catalog with our application. That gets us in every time! Our Dealer Resource Center has a sample letter to send with your application. Just modify the letter with your contact info and you’re all set.
